Danny Lee Smith, 66, of Corbin passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Baptist Health Corbin.  Born October 25, 1951, in Middlesboro, KY, he was the son of the late Otis Harvey Smith and Beulah Smith.

In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Curtis Smith and David Smith.

He was a member of West Corbin Baptist Church.  He was retired from Whayne Supply Company where he had worked for 41 years.  He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed woodworking in his garage.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, he leaves behind his loving wife, Irene Smith; son, Kristopher Smith; daughter, Kasey Smith Gosser and husband Sean; grandchild: Isaac Gosser; sister, Donna Derrick and husband Bobby; and four brothers: Dennis Smith and wife Anna Lee, Otis H. Smith, Jr., and wife Shirley, Scott Smith and wife Debbie, and Derek Smith and wife Angela, as well as several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and numerous friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 16, 2017, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating.  Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens at Lily.  Active pallbearers will be Tony Hoffman, Tommy Hill, Scott Smith, Brandon Smith, Adam Smith, Cody Smith, Derek Smith, and Luke Neeley.  Honorary pallbearers will be Gaven Smith, Isaac Gosser, Gradey Smith, Madden Smith, Avery Smith, Blake Pennington, Jessie Pennington, Wesley Cathers, Josh Daniels, Zach Daniels, and Jacob Daniels.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 P.M. Thursday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.

    I am so sorry for your loss. The Smith’s have been my neighbors for over 30 years. If there is anything you need, you know where I live. God Bless Irene and the Family.
