Helen Louise McKinney Lawson

March 15, 1935 - December 2, 2014

Surrounded by her loving family, Helen Louise McKinney Lawson, age 79, departed this life Tuesday December 2, 2014, due to a brief illness lasting two months.

 She was preceded in death by husband Floyd Lawson, one brother, Bill McKinney, father Thelmer McKinney and mother Ruth Moore McKinney.

 Survivors include one brother, Larry Paul McKinney; seven children: Sharon Gabbard and husband Bobby, Lloyd Lawson and wife Cathy, Curtis Lawson, Karon Moses ( the wife of the late Benny Moses), Pam Cornett and husband David, Brian Lawson and wife Sherry and Shanna Elkins and husband Steve; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Jim Lawson and two special nieces, Marlene Hill Rice and Penny Lester Martin.

She attended Frankfort Baptist Church and Dorthae Pentecostal Church. Her church families were very precious to her. She loved the Lord with all her heart.  In memory of Helen, her family asks that you make a special effort to attend the church of your choice this Sunday.

 A devoted wife of 57 years, her family meant everything to her. Spending time with her family was her greatest enjoyment. Having worked at the Snow-E-White laundry for 17 years, she made many life-long friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

 Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Friday, December 5, 2014, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Hodge, Pastor Billy Evans, and Rev Zach Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in Youngs Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brandon Moses, Robby Gabbard, Bradley Moses, Cody Lawson, Caleb Lawson, Tyler Lawson Trey Lawson and Steve Elkins.

Honorary pallbearers are Butch McHargue, Roger Snyder and Willard Bowman.

 The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday at the Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master St., Corbin.

    Aunt Helen you are such a wonderful lady you are admirer by so many, thank you for always helping mom all that you and uncle Jr did we love you and will miss you so much. Guy’s I know it’s hard and there’s nothii can say or do to take your pain away but I’m here if I can help in any way, love you all. Donna and Rick Miracle.
