Lena Jones
September 22, 1926 - February 4, 2014Lena Jones, 87, of Corbin passed away Tuesday night, February 4, 2014, at The Heritage. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.
Born September 22, 1926, in Laurel County, she was the daughter of the late Jake and Samantha Watkins. In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Asher and her second husband John Croley Jones; one son, Mitchell Asher; three brothers: Mark Watkins, Earl Watkins, and Albert Watkins; and one sister: Ann Blankenship.
Survivors include one son: Michael Asher of Corbin; two sisters: Ruby Craig and Edna Evans; and two brothers: Jakie Ray Watkins and Bill Watkins, as well as other relatives and many friends, to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 9, 2014, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyle Lester officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens at Lily.
The family of Lena Jones will receive friends from 1:00 until the funeral hour at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
