Mary Ruth McKnight
May 12, 1925 - January 31, 2014Mary Ruth McKnight, 88, of Christian Health Center of Corbin, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 31, 2014, at Continue Care Hospital in Corbin.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John F. Mills and Ida Venice Mullins Mills, of Coeburn, VA; two brothers: LT. Colonel Benjamin F. Mills and Charles Mills; her husband Elmer McKnight; and one son, Charles Ray McKnight.
Her survivors include one brother, Letcher Mills of Coeburn, VA; one son, Benny McKnight and wife Darlene of Corbin: one daughter, Audrey McFarland of Daytona Beach, FL; grandchildren: Shelly McKnight and Kristie Lanham of Corbin; Delana Parrrish and Matt McFarland of Daytona Beach, FL; great-grandchildren: Ryan Williamson, Hannah and Brady Lanham of Corbin and Zoe Parrish of Daytona Beach, FL. She leaves behind other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.
A member of Dorthae Pentecostal Church, Mary was a registered nurse at S.E.K.B. Hospital in Corbin for many years and was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel in 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 3, 2014, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Billy Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour at 1:00 P.M. at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., is handling the arrangements.
