Ruby Storms Hammons

November 29, 1934 - December 2, 2014

Ruby Storms Hammons entered into eternal rest Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at the age of 80.  She led a full life, living in Kentucky, South Carolina, Virginia, and Louisiana.  Among her many talents, she was an excellent gardener, seamstress, cook, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was employed at various locations, including Advanced Micro Devices in London, KY, and worked as a supervisor in a nursing home in Virginia.  She was a compassionate, strong and loving woman.

She was born Nov. 29, 1934, in Keavy, KY, to the late Gracie and Roosevelt Storms.  In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her son Frank Hammons.

She is survived by her daughter, Tresia Gale; son, Troy Hammons; five grandchildren: Heather Lilly, Seann Gale, Dominique Marsden, Crystal Million, and Regina Hammons; and three great grandchildren.  Ruby is loved and will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lonnie Storms officiating.  Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery at Keavy.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 P.M. Friday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.

    The dash represents all the time she spent alive upon this earth.
    Those who loved her and knew her best, know what that little line is worth.

    Our hearts ache thinking of your loss. Troy and Janet, we wish you moments of peace and comfort as you remember the happy times with your mother.
