William L. “Bill” Barnhill

William L. “Bill” Barnhill, age 72, of Corbin passed away at his residence Wednesday, April 27, 2016, with his family by his side.

He was born February 5, 1944, to the late George H. and Verna E. Barnhill.

Among his survivors are his devoted wife, Muriel Hinkle Barnhill, whom he wed January 23, 1965; his loving children: Susan Elliott (David) of Corbin; Alicia Logan (Duane) of Corbin; W. Brian Barnhill (Courtney) of Flat Lick, KY;

grandchildren: Elizabeth Neeley (Luke), C. David Elliott, Wayne Logan, Rachel Logan, Peyton Barnhill, Libby Vaughn, Hallea Barnhill,Cameron Vaughn, Hannah Barnhill; great-granddaughter, Allison Neeley; siblings: Pauline Therrian of Shepherdsville, KY, and Charles Barnhill of Elizabethtown, KY; and several nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends.

A life-long member of West Corbin Baptist Church, Bill served as Senior Deacon.

Also, he was employed at Whayne Supply for 46 years as a parts salesman.

Since his childhood days, Bill was an avid U.K. Wildcat fan.  He enjoyed gardening, playing with his grandchildren and his “furry friends,” Ace and Dudley.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 30, 2016, at West Corbin Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Howell officiating.  Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers are employees of Whayne Supply Company and Bill Hammons’ Sunday School Class at West Corbin Baptist Church.  Casket bearers will be David Elliott, Wayne Logan, Peyton Barnhill, Cameron Vaughn, Christopher Broughton, Ray Therrian, Luke Neeley, and Jeff Therrian.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 Friday at West Corbin Baptist Church and from 12:00 until 2:00 Saturday.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to West Corbin Baptist Church.

    Our whole family will miss our sweet Uncle Bill and he will never be forgotten. We are so thankful to have had him in our lives. Much love to Aunt Muriel and all the children. Love, Bob and Debbie

    Jeannie and I send our deepest love and condolences to Muriel and family.
    I was blessed to have worked with Bill for over 30 years at Whayne Supply and
    Worshipped with Bill at West Corbin Baptist Church. I have met none finer !!
    We are saddened but Bill walks with the Lord !

    Sad to say goodbye to such a loving great man. He rejoicing with God in Heaven. He will be missed greatly. Prayers and hugs go out to Muriel and the family.
