Denny Wayne Bowman, 77, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026, at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Denny was born July 24, 1948, in Jellico, Tennessee.
Denny was a graduate of Whitley County High School and Cumberland College. He worked his way through college doing construction with his dad and uncles. Upon graduation, Denny began a teaching career. Shortly thereafter, he joined his dad in construction (renovating and building homes). In 1974, he was offered a supervisor position with American Greetings Corporation. He worked there for 28 years and retired as the human resource manager.
Denny was a member of Central Baptist Church. In earlier years, Denny was very active in church ministry at Woodbine Baptist Church and at Central Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Anderson Bowman and Linda Mae Bowman; brother, Eddie Layne Bowman; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Daniel and June Engle.
Denny leaves behind a loving family: his wife of 54 years, LaDonna Bowman; son, Brandon Wayne Bowman of Corbin, KY; daughter, Brittney Denise Bowman of Lexington, KY; granddaughter, Bella Maria Bowman of Corbin, KY; sister, Ruth Ann Bowlin (Jerome) of Jellico, TN; brother-in-law, Darryl Engle (Norma) of Williamsburg, KY; nieces: Angela Hancock (Josh) of Somerset, KY, and Amy Bramble of Corbin, KY; and great-nephews: Elijah and Isaiah Bramble of Corbin, Kentucky.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Hart Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
