Charlotte Lonell (Terry) Eaton, 78, of Corbin, Kentucky, went home to be with her Lord on July 23, 2026.

Charlotte was born October 7, 1947, in Corbin, Kentucky, to Lonnie Terry and Jackie Oberle. She was a lifelong member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

On August 12, 1967, she married Bobby Joe Eaton, and for 58 years she was undeniably in love with him. Everyone who spent five minutes around the two of them knew it.

If you knew Charlotte, you knew to expect a sharp remark and a straight answer. She was funny in a way that never had to try, and she could get a laugh out of anybody. She was just as honest about the things that mattered to her, her children and grandchildren above all, who never once had to guess how she felt about them. Her friendships lasted decades; each year she and her girls traveled to see the Gaither Vocal Band, a trip she counted down to all year. At the end, she was surrounded by the same people who had surrounded her for a lifetime, which is exactly how she would have wanted it.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Terry and Jackie Oberle, and by her sisters, Judy Wells Johnson and Karen Wilson.

She leaves behind her husband, Bobby Joe Eaton; her son, Andrew Joe Eaton, and his fiancé, Kimberly Miller; her sisters, Marlene Howard and Joetta Jackson; her grandchildren, Jacob Walton (Natasha), Brandi Eaton, Elizabeth Eaton, Collin Boerger, Brent Miller, and Trace Miller; her great-grandchildren, Georgia, Hattie, and Jasper Walton, and Oliver and Alaia Boerger; her best friend since the first grade, Donna Romines; her beloved niece Darlene Taylor, and more family and friends than could be counted.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 26, 2026, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Vernon Morris and Bobby Joe Eaton officiating.  Burial will follow in Worley Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the funeral hour at 2:00 P.M. at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.

After the services have concluded, the family invites everyone to Oak Grove Baptist Church for food and fellowship — and for the kind of visiting Charlotte loved best.
