Wilma C. Johnson
April 3, 1945 - January 16, 2018Wilma C. Johnson, 72, of Gray passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Baptist Health Corbin. Born April 3, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Maynard Thomas, Sr., and Hazel Thomas.
She was a member of 17th Street Christian Church. She was retired from the Department of Social Insurance after many years of service.
In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Ruth Ann Thomas and Freida Martin and five brothers: Joby Thomas, Gerald Thomas, Junior Thomas, Arvil Thomas, and Homer Thomas.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, she leaves behind her loving family: son, Heath Sherman and wife Kathy; two daughters: Rhonda Wells and Heather Campbell; grandson, Cody Wells; two granddaughters: Jayden Campbell and Darci Sherman; and two brothers: James Thomas and wife Mary and Bill Thomas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and numerous friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 20, 2018, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Doug Martin and Heath Sherman officiating. Burial will follow in Parks-Helton Cemetery with Cody Wells, Bradley McKiney, Doug Stagg, Patrick Decker, David Thomas, and Heath Sherman serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 P.M. Friday and again on Saturday from 10 – 11 A.M. at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
