Robert “Bob” Davenport, 68, of Corbin passed away Saturday night, Dec. 28, 2013, at Greg and Noreen Hospice Care Center in Hazard. Born Oct. 14, 1945, he was the son of the late John Bill and Thelma Marie Davenport.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Davenport; a grandson, Brandon Jones; four brothers: William Davenport, Lowell “Jack” Davenport, Harvey Davenport, and Thomas Davenport; and a sister, Verla Wolfe.

Survivors include four children: Kimberly Hounchell and husband James of Batavia, OH, Missy Martin and husband Bill of Goshen, OH, Robbie Davenport of Goshen, OH, and Steve Davenport and wife Annie of Corbin; two step-children: Tammy Jones of Corbin and Otis Godsey, Jr., and wife Angie of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren: Kaitlyn Hounchell, Destiny Hounchell, Jeffrey Hunter, Devon Jones and wife Ashley, Tiffany Godsey, Natalie Godsey, and Jordan Godsey; one great-grandson: Kevin Jones; one sister: Betty Butler and husband Don “Doc” of Corbin; one brother: Ancil Davenport and wife Louella of Corbin; and one sister-in-law: Doris Davenport of Martinsville, IN. He also leaves behind a special aunt, Verla Brewer, of Corbin, as well as several nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and numerous friends, all who mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 2, 2014, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery with nephews and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family of Robert “Bob” Davenport will receive friends from 6 – 9 P.M. Wednesday at Hart Funeral Home, lnc., located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
