Isabel Irene Maggard
December 23, 1930 - October 6, 2022Isabel Irene Williams Maggard, 91, of Lily, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Williamsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
Irene was born December 23, 1930, to the late Hezekiah and Pruda (Melton) Williams.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jimmy Maggard; two sons: Randall Ray Maggard and Jimmy Wayne Maggard; and three sisters: Pauline Williams, Ester Ruth Williams Stidham, and Mary Rose Williams Martin.
Irene is survived by three children: Iris Maggard Afterkirk (Don) of Florence, Kentucky, Brenda Gail Harris of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Gary L. Maggard of London, Kentucky; two sisters: Orgie Marie Williams Teeters of Waverly, Ohio, and Fay Fern Williams Beekman of Elm Grove, Ohio; three brothers: Otis Williams of Keavy, Kentucky, Enoch Williams of Keavy, Kentucky, and James Edward Williams of Brainbridge, Ohio; six grandchildren: Chris Afterkirk, Renae Afterkirk Bellamy, Jonathan Harris, Jim Ed Harris, Gary Lyn Maggard, Jr., and Jessica Maggard Blair; ten great-grandchildren: Taylor Dillon, Tessa Bellamy, Vaedyn Bellamy, Madisyn Harris, Payton Harris, Presley Blair, Joseph David Michael, Jonalyn Wilburn, Chloe Irene Wilburn, and Abigail Elizabeth Harris, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Irene was a loving and beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was retired from Caron Spinning Company where she worked for many years. All the while, she was a wonderful homemaker whose joy was taking care of her family. She will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Greg Deaton officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 P.M. Tuesday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
