Ronnie Lee Thompson, Sr.

July 14, 1974 - January 15, 2024

Ronnie Lee Thompson, Sr., 49, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away Monday, January 15, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

Born July 14, 1974, in London, Kentucky, he was the son of Lester and Charlene Thompson, who survive.

Ronnie was an employee of Pepsi Cola Bottling Company.  Always a jokester, he made a lot of people smile.  He had an absolute love for hunting and also enjoyed playing pool.  He was fascinated by old cars, especially the 1968 Camaro.  However, his greatest love was for his grandbabies, Kailey, Lailee, Gadtson, and Roree.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his daughter, Rickie Leeann Thompson; and grandparents: Otto and Beulah Faye Thompson and Delbert and Lexlene Grubb.

In addition to his parents and grandchildren, Ronnie leaves behind his daughter, Sarah Phipps and husband Dale; and son, Ronnie Thompson, Jr.   He is also survived by a host of other family members and friends.

Ronnie was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.  He would definitely want to be remembered as both an organ recipient and an organ donor.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, January 22, 2024, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Todd Parker officiating.  Burial will follow in McHargue Cemetery in Lily, Kentucky.  Pallbearers will be Steve Kinney, Steve Sergeant, Chris Ball, Lester Grubb, Deric Hutton, and Alex Hutton.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Monday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, KY 40701.
