Brenda Carol Kennedy
December 1, 1942 - December 16, 2024Brenda Carol Worley Kennedy, 82, passed away on December 16, 2024, at her home in Corbin, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Raymond and Evalena Worley.
In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Evalena; sons: Michael and Gregory, sisters: Lillie Dotson and Ruth Ann Spurlock; and brother, Walter Worley.
She is survived by her son, Raymond (Laurie) Quincy, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Crystal, London, Kentucky; grandchildren: Michael Kennedy, Jr., Christopher Kennedy, Texas, Austin Kennedy (Katie), Paris, Missouri, Rachael Terwelp (Daniel) Quincy Illinois, and Clayton Kennedy, Quincy Illinois; great-grandchildren great great-grandchildren; sisters: Inez Perkins and Wilma Moore; brother-in-law, Merril Spurlock; sister-in-law, Shirley Worley, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Brenda was rich in her faith in the Church of God. Brenda had many jobs in her lifetime, most recently as a loyal worker for Wal-Mart in Lexington, Kentucky, for over 20 years. She was devoted to her family and friends and would do anything to help them. She had a mechanical mind and would rather learn how to do a job herself than to pay anyone else to do it. Brenda also loved telling stories. She would share with anyone who would listen about her experiences from years ago, always with a lesson to be learned.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 20, 2024, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Derwood Perkins officiating. Private burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky.
Visitation/viewing will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 Friday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, KY 40701.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
