Charles Ray Johnson, 77, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Laurel Heights Nursing Home in London, Kentucky.  Born July 18, 1947, in Corbin, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Jimmy and Belle Johnson.

He was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church.  He also was a retired Army Vietnam veteran.

A devoted husband to his wife, Linda, Charlie showed his love with patience and goodwill.  Charlie had many skills and abilities.  Together he and Linda built their home and jointly accomplished many tasks over their 50-year marriage.

Charlie was described as a man who could do anything.  Over the years, he helped his family and friends with various needs and especially enjoyed sharing the produce of his gardens.

In addition to his loving wife, Linda, Charlie leaves behind his extended family and friends.  He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 9, 2024, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Joe Eaton and Victor Bramlett officiating.  Burial will follow in McHargue Cemetery in Lily, Kentucky.  Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Gilmore, Clifton Rogers, Layvon Rogers, Jerry Girdner, Josh Williams, and Charles “Bub” Woodall.  Military honors will be conducted by the D.A.V. Chapter 158.

Visitation will be held from 12 – 2 P.M. Friday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, KY 40701.

A special appreciation is extended to the staff and employees of Laurel Heights Nursing Home for the excellent care and compassion shown during Charlie’s stay.
