Drucilla Nell Lanham
August 7, 1936 - February 24, 2014Drucilla Nell Lanham, 77, of Corbin passed away Monday, February 24, 2014, at Baptist Health Corbin.
Born August 7, 1936, in Clay County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Calloway and Delia Lawson. As a young woman, she worked at Kings Corner in Corbin where she met her future husband, Paul Lanham. Later, she worked until retirement for the Corbin Independent School System as a school bus driver and custodian. She was also a member of the Laurel Homemakers Club.
In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lanham, Sr.; a son, Paul Lanham, Jr.; a daughter, Vickie Lipscomb; a sister, Mae; and a step-brother, Buster Warren.
Survivors include two sons: Tommy Lanham of London and Donald “Donnie” Lanham of Corbin; five grandchildren: Michelle James of Louisville, Tommy Ray Lanham, Jr., of Corbin, Henry Richie of Georgetown, Donna Lanham of Corbin, and Dalton Lanham of Corbin;seven great-grandchildren; two brothers: Bobby Lawson and Cal Lawson; and one sister: Myrtle Mills, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends, to mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, February 28, 2014, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton and Rev. Roger Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Chapel Cemetery.
The family of Nell Lanham will receive friends from 6 – 8 P.M. Thursday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
