E.M. “Doc” Mills
October 26, 1936 - June 10, 2014E.M. “Doc” Mills, 77, of Gray passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Continue Care Hospital in Corbin. He was a member of the East Side Tabernacle Church of God.
Born October 26, 1936, in Knox County, he was the son of the late Bert and Amanda Mills. In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by eight siblings: Tom Mills, Addison Mills, Sam Mills, Roy Mills, Bert Mills, Jr., Kenneth Mills, and Eliza Moncrief.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ruby Mabe Mills; by his three children: Timothy Mills and wife Brenda, Kimberly Allen and husband James, and Michael Mills and wife Sarah; by his six grandchildren: Christopher Mills and wife Brandi, Justin Mills and fiancée Sarah, Michael Allen and wife Angela, Amanda Mills, Brooklyn Mills, and Austin Phipps; by his four great-grandchildren: Madison Mills, Ryleigh Mills, Paisleigh Mills, and Payton Mills; by seven siblings: Will Mills and wife Patricia, Brisco Mills, Lorene Mitchell, Irene McCuen and husband Robert, Audrey Broughton and husband Glen, Jerry Mills, and Joyce Mills Earley, all of Gray. He also leaves behind other relatives and many friends, including a special friend, Vernon Mills, to whom the family extends deep appreciation for his kindness in clearing the cemetery lot. Doc will be greatly missed and deeply mourned.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 13, 2014, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randall Lee officiating. Entombment will follow in Gray Cemetery with Steven Mills, Jeff Mitchell, Brandon Broughton, Lynn Fox, Randy Van Norstran, and Bogie McCuen serving as pallbearers.
The family of Doc Mills will receive friends from 6 – 9 P.M. Thursday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
