Frances Baker Jones
April 3, 1942 - January 9, 2025Frances Baker Jones, 82, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. Born April 3, 1942, in Barbourville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Effie Baker.
In addition to her father and mother, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Jones; infant sister, Debbie Baker; and sister, Linda Sue Scalf.
She leaves behind her son, Kevin Jones; son, Kyle Jones and wife Stacy; daughter, Michelle Jones; four grandchildren: Payton Jones, Lake Jones, Chelsea Carnes, and Mashaela Jones; brother, John Baker and wife Jackie; sister, Kathy Liford; and brother, Jim Baker and wife Charlotte. Special friends also survive her: Ted and Margie Hampton, Dork and Charlotte White, and Paula Farmer, along with many other friends and her church family at New Hope Ministries Church of God where she was a member.
Frances will be remembered for the love she showered on everyone she knew. She never failed to tell others she loved them, embracing them with genuine hugs. She also enjoyed cooking, and at any church meal, she was always requested to make at least two of her savoring dishes: banana pudding and dumplings.
A dearly loved lady, Fran will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 15, 2025, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Paula Farmer officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery with Lake Jones, Michael Jones, Zack Jones, Spencer Jones, Mark Woodlee, and Mark Akins serving as active pallbearers and Daniel Patterson and Eric Baker as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 P.M. Wednesday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, KY 40701.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Hope Ministries Church of God 8254 State Highway 1232 Corbin, KY 40701.
