Gary Wayne Brock

Gary Wayne Brock, 69, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital in London, Kentucky.  Born December 24, 1954, in Redbird, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Jim and Helen Caldwell Brock.

In addition to his father and mother, Gary was preceded in death by two sisters: Lorrianne Brock Saylor and Judy Brock Taylor.

Gary was a strong-willed, kind, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.  Everyone enjoyed his funny, witty, joking personality.  A hard-working man, Gary spent 17 ½ years working as a coal miner.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Michaelyn Allen Brock whom he affectionately called “Wormie”; daughter, Tasha Brock Jenks and husband Scott; son, Gary D. Brock; daughter, Cynthia Gross and husband Jack; son, Daryll Hedges; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Esther Humfleet and husband Larry; brother, Lowell Brock and wife Rita; and brother-in-law, John Saylor.  He is also survived and mourned by his beloved dog, Gigget.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, May 16, 2024, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with John Saylor and Jerry Day officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 3 P.M. Thursday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, KY 40701.
