Gladys Evelyn Bruce
October 2, 1931 - January 26, 2024Gladys Evelyn Bruce, 92, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at Christian Health Care Center in Corbin, Kentucky. Born October 2, 1931, in Honeybee, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Jacky and Lily Bryant.
Gladys was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. In past years, she served proudly as a Sunday school teacher. She was a homemaker and loving mother who was devoted to her family.
In addition to her father and mother, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Ray T. Bruce, Sr.; and two children: Russell Timothy Bruce and Belinda Gail Day.
Gladys leaves behind her son, Randy Bruce; son, Travis Bruce and wife Barbara; grandchildren: Casey Day and wife Carmel, Amy Cecchini and husband Anthony, and Katie Curtner and husband Joe; and great-granddaughter, Charlotte Curtner.
She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Gladys was well-loved and will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held at Hart Funeral Home on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 6 – 8 P.M.
A funeral service will be held at McCreary County Funeral Home in Whitley City, Kentucky, on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. with Herschel Walker officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until the funeral hour at 2 P.M. Burial will follow in Higgenbotham Cemetery in Parkers Lake, Kentucky.
