James Robert Bennett
February 3, 1946 - July 19, 2024James Robert Bennett, 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Corbin, Kentucky, on Friday, July 19, 2024.
Born February 3, 1946, in Woodbine, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Hiram and Nannie Bennett. In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Garrett “Buddy” Bennett and Ralph Bennett; sister, Martha Sizemore; and nephews: Wayne and Charlie Sizemore.
James was a United States Air Force veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He was a pressman at American Greetings for over 25 years and retired as a self-employed owner/operator in the trucking business. He enjoyed fishing as a pastime.
James leaves behind his loving wife, Mary Bennett; daughter, Annette Reynolds and husband Marvin; grandson, Tyler Reynolds; great-grandson, Kopen Reynolds; two step-grandsons: Dillon and Evan Keck, the sons of Libby and David Keck; and brother, Gorman Bennett and wife Nancy. He is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
James was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 22, 2024, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Bargo officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery in Corbin with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 88 Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 P.M. Sunday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, KY 40701.
