Lilah Smith
October 12, 1954 - November 20, 2022Lilah Smith, 68, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022. Born October 12, 1954, in Pulaski, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Wilburn and Mae Hunter Stanford.
In addition to her father and mother, Lilah was preceded in death by her sister, Willa Ray; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, James Lee and Betty Smith.
Lilah leaves behind her loving husband of 40 years, Jeff Smith; sister, Gale Barr; and nieces: Lori, Myra, Melissa, and Martha, along with other relatives and friends, to mourn her passing.
Lilah loved her husband, family, and her “babies,” her cats. Before retirement, she worked as a microbiologist. She enjoyed traveling all over the United States but was especially awed by her visit to the Grand Canyon. Another of her chief interests was the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Team.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 25, 2022, in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Frank Vanzant officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens at Lily, Kentucky.
The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 P.M. Friday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
