Loretta Carter
March 7, 1948 - January 25, 2025Loretta Carter, 76, of Woodbine, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025. Born March 7, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy Barton.
In addition to her father and mother, Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Carter; sister, Louetta Robinson; and two brothers: E.J. Barton and Ernest Lee Barton.
Loretta, often called “Bay” by family and friends, leaves behind four children: Dorothy Rapier and husband Gary, Wesley Carter and wife Renee, Melissa Reeves and husband Jerry, and Teresa Rowe and husband Michael; seven grandchildren: Wesley Carter, Jr., Raymond Carter, Daniel Reeves, David Reeves, Adam Rowe, Sarah Rowe, and Asher Rowe; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Harrison Barton; and sister, Wilma Johnson.
Loretta loved attending Blessed Hope Baptist Church. She also loved her family and found pleasure in preparing their favorite meals, especially pork chops and fried potatoes. She also enjoyed flowers, wind chimes, and chicken figurines.
She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Logan officiating. Burial will follow at Carter Cemetery in Woodbine.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 P.M. Tuesday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, Kentucky 40701.
