Paul G. Eaton, 85, of Corbin passed away Friday, September 26, 2014, at the Corbin Health and Rehabilitation Center.  Born December 19, 1928, in Keavy, he was the son of the late Roy and Bertha Eaton.

He was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church in Corbin and was baptized by Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and in the Army Reserves.

He was a graduate of Corbin High School and later attended Diesel Mechanic School in Michigan.  He was employed by the Corbin Times Tribune from January 1956 until he retired on September 16, 1987.

In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by four sisters: infant, Pearlie Mae, Billie Joy Evans, Ruby Hale and her husband Everett Gene, Ruth Kuehne,; and his step-mother, Euna Harp Eaton.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years and nine months, Betty R. Eaton; his son, Mark Eaton who was his loving caregiver for three years; daughter, Dorothy E. Fortune; son, Paul T. Eaton,;two sisters: Beulah McFarland and Brenda Pietrowski and husband Frank; step-brother, Louis Harp; step-sister, Cotha Cathers; grandson, Joshua Paul Eaton; two step-grandchildren: Ciara Warren and Tyler Warren and their mother Durenda Taylor; two brothers-in-law: Ronnie Kuehne and Willard Evans; and his pet dog JoJo, as well as other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 28, 2014, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating.  Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens at Lily with family and friends serving as pallbearers.  Military rites will be conducted by the D.A.V. Chapter 158.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour at 3:00 P.M. at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.

    Paul will be remembered with fond memories. He was so faithful to visit with Herbert Eaton all through the years when Herbert was sick. May you feel God’s presence as you deal with your loss.

    Mark and family Jim and I are so sorry for your loss. Paul was such a sweet and funny man, there not many of his kind left. He will be missed. We pray God will give you comfort .

    Bo and I remember Paul and his family when we attended Trinity UMC
    years ago.
    Have talked to Mark on several occasions and saw how he ministered to his Dad.
