Sherry Lynn Schenk
December 17, 1975 - July 1, 2024Written by JeNell Winchester, friend
Sherry Lynn Begley Schenk, 48, wife of Randy Schenk, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024. She was the mother of two amazing boys, Jonathan and Joshua Schenk. She was the beloved daughter of the late Jack Begley and Bonnie Begley who survives.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Brian.
Sherry loved her aunts, uncles, and cousins. When she married Randy, she extended her love to his family. She had numerous friends, and she had a way of making each one feel special.
Sherry was a graduate of Corbin High School. She worked in the hearing health industry and took joy in her patients. She took time to listen to her patients and extend love to them. She enjoyed visiting with her patients and often prayed for them. She had a heart of service to others. She was selfless and humble helping others.
Sherry took joy in her family. She loved her husband and children. She loved her mother and father. She would smile as she told you about her family. She would light up when she talked about those she loved. She had a fierce family love and her happiness was being surrounded by her children, husband, and mother. She found delight in the name “Aunt Sherry.” She was the glue, the protector, and the rock. Her smile would grow, her eyes would twinkle, and laughter was quick to come when she talked about her family. She also loved her cats, dogs, and chickens. She spoiled them just as she spoiled those she loved.
She was the true definition of Friend. She always had a seat at her table for others. She was quick to pray and offer words of encouragement. She was often a voice of reason and a peacekeeper. She was selfless and never hesitated to help someone. Someone gave tribute to Sherry and quoted a movie “There are angels masquerading as people walking around this planet and your mom is the bravest one of those.” Sherry was one of these angels. She gave unconditional love. She was unselfish, often doing things for others before herself. Being in Sherry’s presence was uplifting; she was quick to find a silver lining, and her smile was contagious.
Sherry was a founding member of Corbin Full Gospel Church of God. Sherry was a woman of God. She had a passion for God and sharing his love. Sherry’s love for God and faith showed in her smile and her musical laugh. She never hesitated to invite someone to church. She took delight in giving testimony and witnessing to others. She would pray with and over others; she was a true prayer warrior. Her love for God and devotion to her church family could be seen every time she entered the church. She had a true servant’s heart.
Sherry Begley Schenk was a vision of what God’s love looked like- we grieve her because we have been left behind but we find peace and hope from knowing we get to see Sherry again grinning from ear to ear, sparkle in her eyes, laughing, welcoming us at the gates of Heaven. We find hope and comfort in knowing she is with us and waiting on us in Heaven. May the Peace of Christ touch all who knew her and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Corbin Full Gospel Church of God 896 Scuffletown Road, Corbin, KY 40701 with Jerome Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Worley Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky.
Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 P.M. Friday at Hart Funeral Home and from 10:00 – 11 A.M. Saturday at the church.

Should you want to remember her, please feel free to send a gift in her name for the Church Building Fund to Corbin Full Gospel Church of God P.O. Box 520 Corbin, KY 40702.

Posted at 16:39h, 03 JulySherry was my audiologist and friend. She took excellent care of my hearing needs, and never failed to tell me , she prayed for me.
She was quick with her witness and smile. I knew she genuinely cared about me, and all of her clients. It wasn’t just business.
She will be terribly missed. We praise God for her testimony.

Posted at 17:39h, 03 JulyI will miss you, Mom. and thank you for bringing the joy that my dad needs, you change his life to the BEST, I have never seen him smile from ear to ear. Remember you are not a stepmom but a mom who would step up to be the mom I need; your love is amazing. You are a fantastic stepmom and so much more than just a blood mom: They chose to love when they didn’t have to.” “Family isn’t defined only by last names or blood; it’s defined by commitment and love.” “To us, family means putting your arms around each other and being there.” “You don’t choose your family. I am grateful to have you in my life and to consider you, my mother. I appreciate the love and support you have shown me. You will be forever my Angel; thank you for letting me be part of your side of the family. Love Brenda (Randy’s oldest daughter)
