Shirley Rose Henderson
July 28, 1939 - January 14, 2020Shirley Rose Henderson, 80, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020. Born July 28, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Ova and Cecil Ramsey.
She was a member of 20th Street Baptist Church. A gracious, caring lady, she relished her role as homemaker, always thinking about the needs of everyone she loved. Described as an excellent cook, she used her culinary skills at home and also while working in Ramsey’s Country Kitchen, a restaurant in Corbin that she and her husband, Earl, owned. For recreation, she enjoyed trips with her children and sisters to Gatlinburg, as well as active participation in holidays, especially Halloween.
In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; two brothers: Harold Ramsey and Charles Ramsey; four sisters: Jean Sutton, Blanche Rogers, JoAnn Schnelle, and Wanda Alsip.
She leaves behind her loving family: daughter, Tammy Prewitt and husband Dean; son, Danny Henderson; daughter, Lisa Canada; eight grandchildren: David Henderson, Jeff Prewitt, Misty Peace, Jason Prewitt, Brianna Martin, Kim Wilson, Megan Canada, and Josh Canada; 16 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and two sisters: Alma Givens and Glenda Eaton. She is also survived by many other relatives and numerous friends. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Friday, January 17, 2020, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with David Evans and Alan Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Jack’s Fork Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 P.M. Thursday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbi
