Walter Madison White
June 18, 1923 - July 15, 2014Walter Madison White, 91, of Corbin passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Christian Health Care. He believed in the Pentecostal faith and was a faithful employee of the L & N Railroad (now CSX) for 44 years.
Born June 18, 1923, in Corbin, he was the son of the late Charles and Ruth White. In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Axine Perkins; two brothers: Charles White, Jr., and Herbert White; a great grandson, Oscar “Ozzy” Falkowski; and a daughter-in-law, Diana White.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Margie White; son, Gary “Dork” White and wife Charlotte of Corbin; son, Earl “Take” White of Corbin; daughter, Nancy Davis and husband Eldon, Jr., of Corbin; daughter, Carolyn “Dottie” Calder and husband Kenny of Valparaiso, IN; son, Tim White of Corbin; brother, Billy Dean White and wife Glenna of Corbin; 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, as well as other relatives and numerous friends, to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 18, 2014, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Wynn and Creston Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Calder, Chris Calder, John Davis, Jason White, Kevin Bruner, Todd White, Travis White, Chuck Ely, Alex Wynn, and Joey Falkowski.
The family of Walter White will receive friends from 12 – 2 P.M. Friday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
