Lou Allen Trosper
September 20, 1920 - November 7, 2020Lou Allen “Nan” Pennington Trosper, age 100, of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, passed peacefully on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Laurel Heights Nursing Home in London, Kentucky.
Lou was born on September 20, 1920, in Harlan County, Kentucky, to the late Charley and Polly King Pennington of Cawood, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian T. Trosper, and her granddaughter, Michelle Trosper Chaffman.
Nan was known for her famous fried apple pies, Christmas cut-out cookies, and many more delicious sweets. She loved to sew, quilt, and crochet. She also enjoyed plants and gardening. Lou was of the Protestant Faith. She and her husband lived in Galion, Ohio, for over 30 years before retiring in East Bernstadt, Kentucky.
She is survived by her children: Julian M. Trosper (Shirley), Carl Trosper (Linda), and Penny Trosper Ayer (Bruce); her grandchildren: Dr. Michael Trosper (Mendy), Marla Trosper Guillaume (Lee), Allen Trosper (Dawn), Crystal Payton (Tommy), Rawley Rhinehart (Jess), and Thomas Rhinehart (Amanda); her great- grandchildren: Andrew Guillaume (Ariana), Erika Leet (Patrick), Justin Schneider, Danielle Schneider, Landon Harris, Chaney Trosper, Bryce Trosper, Brady Trosper, Charlie Rhinehart, and Greyson Rhinehart; and great- great grandchildren: Julian S. Leet and Andrew K. Guillaume II.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 11, 2020, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Ryan Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Trosper, Allen Trosper, Rawley Rhinehart, Thomas Rhinehart, Bryce Trosper and Brady Trosper. Honorary pallbearer will be Justin Schneider.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 P.M. Wednesday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, KY 40701.

I will so miss my conversations and visits with Lou.
I know she is rejoicing in Heaven with her loved ones and friends that have gone on before her.
Lou was like a second mother to me after my mother passed away four years ago.
I know Lou is smiling down on us and saying don’t weep for me, but be happy that I am well.

Posted at 21:21h, 10 NovemberDarlene and I always enjoyed our visits with Aunt Lou. Lou and Darlene had their love of quilting in common, so they always had some long conversations concerning quilting. In 2010,one of Darlene’s quilts won a ribbon in the London Quilt Show, so Aunt Lou drove her old blue truck to the show. She liked butter mints that Bob Evans sold; however, since there wasn’t a Bob Evans in London, we always got some in Somerset to take to her. If she had any fried apple pies made she always made certain we took some home. Grandpa bought a cedar chest for her and Mother. I have the one that belonged to my mother and I assume someone will take care of Lou’s.

When Wanda and I would visit her she went out of her way to make us welcome.
I enjoyed those times visiting with her.
I know her and Wanda are rejoicing together in heaven today.
God bless the family during this time of sorrow.
