Betty Irene Davis, 76, of Corbin passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022.  Born April 3, 1945, in Williamsburg, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Thelma Rains.

In addition to her father and mother, Irene was preceded in death by her son, Darrell Rose; three brothers: Paul Rains, Arnold Rains, and William Rains; and a special aunt and uncle that she considered another father and mother, Jerry and Mable Rains.

Irene was a member of Mount Zion Church of Christ.  She was a kind, caring person who always took care of others, especially serving in her home and church.  She was also an avid CATS fan and over the years enjoyed attending U.K. games as well as the local sports events of her children and grandchildren.  Meanwhile, she worked as a purchasing agent with Gatliff/Teco Coal Company, retiring with over 30 years of service.

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Irene greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially cooking for them. She leaves behind her loving husband of 37 years, Troy Davis; son, Timothy Rose (Laura); daughter, Amy Carrillo (Alberto); son, Olin Davis; nine grandchildren: Lindsey Stehle (Jesse), Katlyn Rose, Paige Rose, Chris Blankenship, Shawn Perkins, Quinton Rose, Addison Carrillo, Ava Carrillo, and Avery Davis; three great-grandchildren: Christian Blankenship, Thomas Stehle, and Ivy Rai Stehle; and sister, Elsie Petrey.  She is also survived by several other relatives, friends, and her church family.  Irene was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 12, 2022, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Brown and David Scott officiating.  Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.

    I worked with Irene for 5 years..sure hate to hear this ..prayers for her family..

    Irene was a thoughtful and caring woman. My service with the DAVA was enlightened by knowing her and she was one of the many joys my daughter has encountered.
    Heaven will definitely have an Angel who will be trying to make everyone comfortable, happy, and fed with her there!
