Billy Marvin Smallwood, Sr., age 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at his home in Corbin, Kentucky.  Born November 8, 1948, he was the son of the late Caleb and Edna Smallwood.

In addition to his father and mother, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Rex Smallwood; and two sisters: Dean Wesley and Linda Smallwood.

Bill leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 56 years, Janet Smallwood; son, Billy Smallwood, Jr.; and eight siblings: Lee Smallwood and wife Betty, Matt Smallwood and wife Coralee; Don Smallwood, June Ramsey and husband Larry, Joyce Roaden and husband Dennis, Bernie Smallwood and wife Sandy, Gary Smallwood and wife Linda, and Kenny Smallwood and wife Tonia.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Bill was a United States Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War.  He was a member of Level Green Missionary Baptist Church.

Bill valued his family and the time spent with them.  Meanwhile, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Bill was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 22, 2026, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with William Bruner officiating.  Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery with military honors conducted by the D.A.V. Chapter 158.  Serving as pallbearers will be Earl Wagers, Jay Lewis, Jim Litteral, Jerry Wyatt, Jr., Steve Knollman, and Johnny Slusher.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
