Bruce Arnold Hood

August 30, 1958 - February 18, 2024

Bruce Arnold Hood, age 65, of Corbin, Kentucky, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday evening, February 18, 2024, at Baptist Health Corbin.

Bruce was born August 30, 1958, in Corbin (Whitley County), Kentucky.  He was the son of the late William Arnold Hood and Wilma Mabel Helton Hood.

Bruce graduated from Corbin High School with the class of 1976, where he played football.

He began his trucking career working for Overnite and later worked for UPS Freight where he retired.

In addition to his father and mother, he was pre-deceased by his wife, Vikki Leigh Taylor Hood.

Surviving him are his sister, Beverly Ann Hood Booth, and her husband, Leslie K. Booth; his brother, Donald Alex Hood, and his wife Linda G. Chiles Hood; his niece, Tina Michelle Rucker Loftus; his nephew, Bradley Scott Rucker;  his niece, Laura Allison Hood Mitchell; his niece, Elizabeth Ann Hood Cullum; four great-nephews: Carter, Greyson, and Maverick Mitchell and Griffin Cullum; and his special friend and caregiver, Karen Lisa Gregory Farris, along with many friends and family who mourn his passing.

A private memorial service is planned.

Hart Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

    Bruce was a good friend. We spent a lot of time playing music in my mom&dads basement, with our 70’s rock band. My mom would always cook for us, Bruce would always eat 2 cheeseburgers

    Please remember that Bruce had two other nieces that loved him very much – Allison Hood Mitchell and Elizabeth Hood Cullum. He also had four great nephews – Carter, Greyson, and Maverick Mitchell, and Griffin Cullum. He will surely be missed!
