Charles Andrew “Andy” Thaler

Charles Andrew “Andy” Thaler, 60, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Baptist Health Corbin Hospital.  Born July 15, 1964, in London, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Charles Ancil Thaler and Dorothy Jean Hawkins Thaler who survives.

Andy was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  He worked for many years at Johnny Wheels and for the past 20 years for MSHA

He loved his family and spending quality time with them.  He also greatly enjoyed the outdoors, and the time he spent hiking, fishing, hunting, and working on his tractors and Jeeps.  A humble man, Andy was known for his kindness and generosity in helping everyone, a trait that made him greatly loved and admired by his family and friends.

In addition to his father, Andy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Andrew Frank Thaler and Danna Rosetta Thaler; maternal grandparents: Walter Marion Hawkins and Etta Belle Hawkins; all his uncles and aunts; father-in-law, James Howard Mintz; brother-in-law, James Curtis Mintz; and father-in-law, Milton Ferrell Smith.

Andy leaves behind his loving and beloved wife of 35 years, Connie Lorraine Mintz Thaler; son,  Andrew James Thaler; son, Charles Ryan Thaler (Sarah Reamy); mother, Dorothy Jean Hawkins Thaler; sister, Verna Jean Thaler Kline and husband Randy; mother-in-law, Dorothy Joyce Morris Smith; sister-in-law, Laurie Deanne Mintz Null and husband, Jamie; brother-in-law, Ronnie Wayne Mintz and wife, Denise; nieces: Monica Grant, Candace Owens (Cody), Amber Geddins (Justin), Jamie Bunch (Aron), and Lindsey Frazier (Chad); nephews: Dalton Grant, Jonathan Gabriel Mintz, James Nathaniel Mintz, Jason Kline, and Brian Kline (Melanie); and dearly loved great-nieces, great-nephews; great-great nieces, great-great nephews, and cousins.  A special thank you is extended to two relatives: Robin Housley and Alex Housley.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 A.M. Monday, April 28, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, officiated by co-celebrants, Fr. Damian Anumba and Fr. Joseph Thaler, M.M.  Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery with Alex Housley, Robin Housley, William “Bill” Storms, Thomas R. “TR” Storms, Chad Frazier, Thomas Thaler, Jeffrey Thaler, and Dalton Grant serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 7:30 P.M. on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Hart Funeral Home.  The Rosary will begin at 7:30.

    Andy was a wonderful person with a big heart! Prayers as you and your family grieve. He will be dearly missed.

    Andy was a caring, kind loving person.. Loved his family and friends! When being around Andy you could feel his warmth thru his smiles and hugs.
    He will truly be missed! Many prayers and love to Connie, Andrew, Ryan Aunt Dorothy, Verna, Randy and family and friends ❤️🙏

    My condolences and sympathy to the Thaler family. I remember well Andy during our elementary years at Saint Camillus Academy. He is your family’s angel now. Be Strong!
