January 21, 1951 - January 29, 2020

Darrell Wayne Martin, 69, of Corbin entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 29, 2020. Born January 21, 1951, in Corbin, he was the son of the late Charles and Rena Martin.

In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by three brothers: L.D. Martin, J.C. Martin, and James Miller; sister, Maxine Martin; and brother-in-law, George Ellison.

Wayne retired after 37 years of service to the L & N/CSX Railroad.  A member of the Corbin Varsity Club, he was a strong supporter and fan of the Corbin Redhounds.  He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Wayne leaves behind his devoted wife of 37 years, Judy Martin; son, Jason Martin; son, Joshua Martin and wife Kathy; son, Jared Martin and wife Megan; grandchildren: Hailey Martin, Lacey Martin, Graceyn Martin, Gunnar Wayne Martin, Sammi Martin, and Sophi Martin; sister, Betty Ellison; brother, Charles Martin, Jr. and wife Lou; brother, Bob Miller and wife Margaret; and sister-in-law, Betty Martin. He is also survived by a large extended family and numerous friends. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, February 2, 2020, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Doyle Lester officiating. Entombment will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 P.M. Saturday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Good Hope Baptist Church 300 West 17th Street Corbin, KY 40701 or the National Kidney Foundation 300 East 33rd Street New York, NY 10016.

    So sorry to hear of your loss, Wayne was a great man. I thought the world of him and all of you all, I’ll try to make it down for visitation but not sure yet again sorry for all of your all’s loss

    I just saw Wayne’s obituary online. I am so sorry for your loss. Wayne was my first “boyfriend” as a teenager and he was a really good guy back then and I’m sure an even better man as the years passed. Prayers for all of his family and friends.
