Dorothy Foster, 80, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Barbourville ARH.  Born May 15, 1943, in Knox County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Whitley and Ethel Gray.

In addition to her father and mother, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Foster; infant bother, Dallas Gray; infant sister; Frances Gray; brother, Bennie Gray; sister, Elsie Marion; sister, Lula Foster; sister, Jewell Carter; and brother, Orangie Gray.

She leaves behind her sister, Eleanor Mills; brother, Thomas Gray and fiancé Sandra; sister, Rosetta Merida and husband James; sister, Hazel Brown; and brother, Bobby Gray and wife Rita.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; a great-great niece, Natalie Rose, who dearly loved each other mutually; and her fur baby, her dog Mindy.

Dorothy was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church and always showed her love for the Lord.  She was also a hard worker and a generous, compassionate caregiver for all her family and any others who needed help.  While Dorothy had no biological children, she loved her nieces and nephews as her own, and they, in turn, loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 16, 2024, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in Mooneyham Cemetery in Barbourville, Kentucky, with nephews and great-nephews serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 P.M. Monday and again from 12:30 – 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, KY 40701.
