Edward Hunter “Trig” Gibson

Edward Hunter “Trig” Gibson, 85, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018, at St. Joseph Hospital in London.

 Born May 15, 1932, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Green T. and Susan Gibson.

 He was a U.S. Army veteran.

 In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Sophia, Claudia, Artie Elizabeth, and Ruby Pearl; and two brothers: Otis and David.

He leaves behind his son, David Gibson and wife Debbie of London; daughter, Susie Tarvin and husband Greg of Corbin; mother of his children, Marlene Gibson Hensley of Corbin; four grandchildren: Shane Tarvin, Kelly Tarvin, Tiffany Edmondson, and Jonathan Gibson; nine great grandchildren; one brother: Green T. Gibson, Jr., of Redbud, Illinois; and one sister: Mary Mason of Woodbine.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and numerous friends to mourn his passing.

 Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 12, 2018, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Helton and Pastor Billy Evans officiating.  Burial will follow in Martin Cemetery with grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers.  Full military rites will be conducted by the D.A.V. Chapter 158.

 The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 P.M. Monday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.

    So sorry to hear of Trig’s passing. He and Marlene were our neighbors for many years. Prayers for the family.

    I am so dearly sorry for your family’s loss. Please accept my condolences to your family, death of a loved one is never easy to accept. Our Creator, Jehovah God has made a promise to end death forever; this promise can be found in his Word the Bible at Rev. 21:3 & 4.
