Fannie Powell, 83, of Corbin passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Baptist Health Corbin.  She was a member of East Side Tabernacle Church of God.

 Born January 12, 1933, in Pineville, she was the daughter of the late Dewitt and Annie Mae Goodin.  In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tip Powell.

 She is survived by two sons: Kenneth Powell and wife Kathleen of London and James Ellis Powell and wife Rosemary of North Carolina; five grandchildren: Robert Lee Powell of North Carolina, Jennifer Ann Powell of Louisville, Daniel Reed Powell of Lexington, Amanda Beth Sells and husband David of London, and Matthew Cody Powell and wife Sierra of London; one great grandchild: Benjamin Lucas Sells; one sister: Ethel Guinn of Corbin; and one brother: Freddie Goodin and wife Helen of Williamsburg, as well as other relatives and numerous friends to mourn her passing.

 Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 19, 2016, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Ball and Pastor Randall Lee officiating.  Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens at Lily.

 Visitation will be from 6 – 8 P.M. Wednesday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.

    Hugs and prayers for family and friends. Fannie was an amazing woman…always a smile and loving arms for everyone. I’ll never forget our years at Lily and how she provided “pastoral” care before anyone even knew what that meant. Heaven is just a bit sweeter tonight…
