Helen Marie Taylor
January 23, 1927 - October 11, 2021Helen Marie Taylor, 94, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021, at Christian Health Center in Corbin, Kentucky. Born September 23, 1927, in Knox County, she was the daughter of the late Solomon and Maudie Taylor.
Helen was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church.
To say that Helen had a strong work ethic is an understatement. Indeed, she worked as a hairdresser until she was 80 years old. She thoroughly enjoyed her work and owned her own salon in Lexington, Kentucky, called the Blue Bird Beauty Shop.
In addition to her father and mother, Helen was preceded in death by two brothers: Solomon Taylor, Jr., and George Taylor.
She leaves behind five nieces: Maudie Helton, Lavern Sharp, Sharon Campbell (Randall), Brenda Sue Taylor, and Pamela Griffith; and her nephew, Jack Taylor. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held privately under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
