Hershel Eugene Cassidy
June 25, 1927 - October 22, 2014Hershel Eugene Cassidy, age 87, passed away at his home Wednesday, October 22, 2014.
He was preceded in death by Edward Cassidy, Jake and Nora Odewahn; his first wife, Molly Cassidy; a sister, Doris Ott; and Ralph Hopkins.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy Hopkins Cassidy, of Corbin; family: Janice Hopkins of Riverton, WY; Bill and Deanna Lawson of Manchester, TN; Michael and Barbara Hopkins of Hamilton, OH; Floyd and Lynn Wampler of Bristol, TN;
10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bonnie Moss; nieces and nephews; other family members; and many friends, all to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 (Noon) Saturday, October 25, 2014, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Addison, of New Hope Ministries Church of God, officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The D.A.V. Chapter 158 will conduct full military honors for Mr. Cassidy, who proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until the funeral hour Saturday at the Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master St., Corbin.
