Homer Glen Cowden, Jr.
April 26, 1956 - April 17, 2024Homer Glen Cowden, Jr., 67, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. Born April 26, 1956, in Hamilton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Homer Cowden, Sr., and Anna Marie Morgan Cowden.
In addition to his father and mother, J.R. was preceded in death by an infant brother, Jeffery Cowden, and a sister, Teresa Cowden.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years, Wendy Cowden; son, Travis Cowden; son, Derek Cowden; and son, Justin Cowden. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and numerous friends.
J.R. was a hard-working man who was a mechanic for many years at Southeast Marine. He was also devoted to his family and loved spending time with them. He especially enjoyed attending racing car events and car shows and watching the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
A beloved husband and father, J.R. will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 24, 2024, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Goodin officiating. Burial will follow in McHargue Cemetery in Lily, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. – 1 P.M. Wednesday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, KY 40701.
