Jenny McKeehan

Jenny McKeehan

September 19, 1937 - December 6, 2023

Jenny McKeehan was born in Mills, Kentucky, on September 19, 1937.  She went to meet her Savior on the evening of December 6, 2023, leaving this world surrounded by family who loved her.

Jenny loved to read and always looked forward to visits from the Laurel County Library’s “Bookmobile.”  She was excellent at both crocheting and sewing, known for her in-demand handmade bags and the ease with which she learned how to make new items.  She was an excellent cook and always enjoyed her time feeding family and friends. She was a prolific storyteller, loved good music, and was always discovering and sharing new songs.  She had a long career as a proofreader at National Cash Register and was a proud member of her union. She also served as the assistant manager at Sears for six years.  Jenny held unwavering politics, convictions, and morals.  Her smile and laugh were infectious, and time spent with her was always a blessing.

Jenny was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Bertha Bargo; seven sisters; two brothers; her husband, Doyle McKeehan; and her dear friend, Dewey Brooks.  She is survived by her two daughters: Robin (Eddy) Clark of Prestonsburg and Susan (Bryan) Bright of Lexington; four grandchildren: Matthew (Danielle) Bright of Ponte Vedra, Florida, Casey (Lauren) Bright of Lexington, Caitlin (Ronnie) Brown of Lexington, and Taylor (Yvette) Clark of Louisville; six great-grandbabies: Harrison Bright, Amelia Bright, Adalyn Bright, Halle Brown, Cohen Bright, and Cameron Brown.  WE will all miss her dearly!

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 9, 2023, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Cemetery in Middlesboro, Kentucky.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, KY 40701.
