Joyce Alleen Sasser
April 12, 1944 - September 27, 2021Joyce Alleen Sasser, 77, of Corbin passed away Monday, September 27, 2021, at Baptist Health Corbin. Born April 12, 1944, in Corbin, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late William and Violet Smith.
A member of Greenland Baptist Church, Alleen loved her church. Devoted to her family, she was also a loving housewife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Colin Doyle Sasser.
She leaves behind her daughter, Colleen Jones and husband Charles; son, Richard Sasser and wife Jen; son, Mark Sasser; grandchildren: Shelley Cox, Phillip Sasser and wife Goldie, Josey Sasser and spouse Joseph Davidson, Faith Sasser, and Corbin Sasser; nine great grandchildren; brother, Jack Smith and wife Dorothy; sister, Sandy Hunt and husband Frankie. She is also survived by a host of other loved ones and friends. Alleen was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 1, 2021, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Luke Day and Frankie Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery with Richard Sasser, Mark Sasser, Phillip Sasser, Corbin Sasser, Tayton Cox, Ethan Hunt, Charles Jones, and Frankie Hunt serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 P.M. Thursday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
