Junie Mildred Peters, 89, of Corbin returned to her heavenly home on Monday, February 3, 2020, peacefully and surrounded by family.

Junie was born to the late Pearl and Kie Hollon in Campton, KY, on June 10, 1930. She was a homemaker for the majority of her adult life but chose to enter the workforce later in life and spent a few years making homemade biscuits at Dairy Queen. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Eastside Tabernacle Church of God. Cooking, sewing, spending time with family, and telling people about Jesus were some of the things that brought her the greatest joy.

Junie is survived by her children: Pat Baker and husband Rick, Ronnie Peters and wife Pat, Bill Peters and wife Judy, Wanda Hicks, Steward Peters and wife Tammy, Theresa Champlin and husband Gary; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; siblings; Bill Joe Hollon, John Hollon, Trixie Patrick; and a host of other friends and church family.

In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Peters, and by several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 8, 2020, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 P.M – 8 P.M. Friday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.

    Aunt Junie was a wonderful and Godly lady who was loved by so many. She shared many memories with us, and we will miss her greatly. Praying for all of you, and sending you heartfelt hugs and prayers!!
