Lois Jean Lewis, 77, of Corbin passed away Friday, April 13, 2018.  Born December 24, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Fannie Smith.  

Over the years, Lois was actively involved in the area Church of God ministry, particularly with Parkway, East Side, Artemus, and Barbourville. She spent many years lovingly serving in church roles, especially teaching Sunday school and organizing and facilitating the Ladies’ Ministry at Parkway and East Side. One of her proudest accomplishments was singing in the Missionary Quartet.  She was also a dedicated agent for Life and Causality Insurance Company and was awarded top salesman of the year with an all-expense paid trip to the Bahamas.  

In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Tom Gray; son, Michael Gray; two granddaughters: Ashley Shelton and Amber Shelton; grandson: Michael McKin Gray; great granddaughter, Paisley Canada; infant brother, Curtis Smith; two sisters-in-law: Wilma Smith and Laura Smith; and nephew, Christopher Smith.

She leaves behind her loving family: her dedicated husband of 23 years, Hobert Lewis; daughter, Debbie Trett and husband Darrell of Corbin; daughter, Patty Shelton and husband Gerald of Corbin; daughter, Tonia Smallwood and husband Kenny of Atlanta, GA; daughter-in-law, Melissa Gray Helton of Corbin; grandchildren: Misty Couch, Hanna Strawser, Jon Trett, Scott Trett, Travis Gray, Heather Bullard, Mikey Raines, Brandon Gray, Lindsey Canada, Matthew Gray, Haley Gray, and Jacob Gray; and 18 great grandchildren and another one expected in September.  She is also survived by Gerald Eugene Lewis and wife Vicki and their children Doshia and Thaddaeus; Arthur Ray Lewis and wife Mary Ann and their children Miranda and Austin; siblings: Belvin Smith, J. Harold Smith, Leon Smith and wife Cleta, Herbie Smith and wife Nannie Mae, Betty Mills and husband Joe, and Tim Smith and fiancé Diane; as well as several other relatives and numerous friends.  She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 17, 2018, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Hodge and Bro. Vernon Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery in Corbin.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 P.M. Monday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
