Lucille Wells

Lucille Wells

August 8, 1938 - December 31, 2023

Lucille Wells went to her eternal home to be with Jesus on Sunday, December 31, 2023. She departed this Earth peacefully in her sleep at the age of 85.

Lucille was born on August 8, 1938, to John and Jessie Crawford in Knox County, Kentucky.  She had a loving marriage of 64 years with James Clifton “Cliff” Wells before he entered the gates of Heaven on May 23, 2017.

Lucille devoted her life to her children and family as a homemaker, and she was a long-time member of Horse Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, James M. Wells; her son-in-law, Jeff Partin (Debbie); her grandchildren: Charlie Partin (Jessica), Michael Wells (Terah), Kayla Partin, and Kristi Wells; her great-grandchildren: Titus Partin, Addy Quinlan, Kimberly Quinlan, Jeremiah Skidmore, and Gabriella Skidmore; her siblings: Dallas Crawford, Shelbia Jean Mahoney, and Ada Hampton; and a host of other relatives and friends that loved her dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clifton Wells; her daughter, Kimberly Partin; and her brothers: Pearl Crawford and Ted Crawford.

Lucille lived a long, happy life serving the Lord and serving others. She always had a smile on her face and made a lasting impact on everyone she met. She will forever be loved, cherished, and remembered as the wonderful woman of God, mother, “grandmommy”,” sister, “Aunt Lou,” and friend that she was to all of us.

While we mourn her passing, she is dancing with Jesus for eternity now and has been reunited with the love of her life, Cliff, and her baby, “Kimbo.”

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 4, 2024, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Rodney Edwards officiating.  Entombment will follow in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 P.M. Thursday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, KY 40701.

Sorry for your loss. She was always nice to me, when I was young. Especially when I visited Kim at their home, I’m sure she will be greatly missed.
