Marie Ann Mahan
June 10, 1942 - June 5, 2021Marie Ann Mahan, 78, of Corbin, Kentucky, finished her earthly journey and went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, June, 5, 2021. She was born in Newark, New Jersey, on June 10, 1942, to the late James and Christine McCormack.
She moved to Corbin in 1972 to be near her sister, Flo Lankster; she always loved living in Corbin. Marie was the proud mother of six children, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She graduated from Cumberland College with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education. During her career she taught at St. Camillus Academy, Bell Whitley Community Action Agency and retired as a Head Start teacher at Oak Grove Elementary School. She loved teaching and missed being with her second family, as she referred to her preschoolers.
Marie attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church since moving
to Corbin.
Marie was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Reece. She was later married to Troy Mahan. She is survived by her children: Richard Reece, Cathleen Warren (husband Dave), Cheryl Reynolds (husband James), Thomas Reece (wife Keri), David Reece (fiancé Linda), and Kristy Webb (husband Brian); grandchildren: Logan Carnes (husband Joshua), Alexandra Reece, Brooks Reece (wife Mary), Lauren Reece, Stephen Reece and Elijah Webb; great grandchildren: Remy, Judah and Ezekiel Carnes; and her sisters: Florence Lankster (husband James) and Catherine Powers (husband Ronald).
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Weglicki officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 P.M. Wednesday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, KY 40701. Rosary service will be at 7:45 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Marie was such a sweet kind hearted Lady. She always had a beautiful smile on her face. She was a dear friend to me too. Some of our most favorite times were when Marie, Mom & I played Bunco together. She dearly loved playing Bunco. ❤
Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord and let Your Perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed rest in peace.
