Mary Lou Howard, 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly in London, Kentucky.  She was born on September 11, 1930, in Jonesville, Virginia.

Mary Lou was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Corbin, Kentucky.  She was retired from the Social Security Office in Harlan, Kentucky, after 20 years of service.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Turner Howard; her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Bill Penn; her parents, Roy and Vesta (Minor) Muncy; her brother, John “Bud” Muncy; and her sister, Zelma Bledsoe.

She is survived by her grandson, Thomas Vanover and wife Angie; great-grandson, Brady Creech and wife Anna; great-granddaughter, Lexi Vanover; great-great granddaughter, Lydia Creech; three sisters: Reba Klippinger, Jeanette (Cliff) Johnson, and Paulette (Al) McAllister; along with nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 2, 2025, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Herschel Walker officiating.  Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 P.M. Sunday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church Building Fund, 1045 N Hwy. 1224, Corbin, KY 40701.

    Loved Mary so much, She was an absolute wonderful caring, and loving lady. We will sure miss her.

    Mary Lou was a sweet person with a big heart. She was so fun to be with and always making me laugh. I will always miss her..
