Melissa Jackson
November 25, 1964 - July 22, 2025Melissa Jackson, 60, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the Hazard Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky. Born November 25, 1964, in Corbin, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Morris and Margaret Morris who survives.
In addition to her mother, Melissa is survived by her daughter, Miranda Smith and husband Roger; granddaughter, Gracie Ailene Smith; sister, Kellie Nunn and husband Lincoln; sister, Mary Brown; brother, Timothy Kelly; and several nieces and nephews.
Melissa valued spending time with her family. She also enjoyed crafts and cleaning house, either her own or anyone else’s. A helpful, kind-hearted woman, Melissa always treated others well, especially the homeless. She prepared meals for them even though she was in a wheelchair and offered them the opportunity to take showers at her home.
She was loved by her family and will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life will be held at Steele’s Chapel Christian Church at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, July 25, 2025, with Andrew Darden officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 P.M. Friday at the church located at 2376 5th Street Road Corbin, Kentucky 40701.
