Michael Shannon Davenport
October 6, 1970 - December 6, 2023Michael Shannon Davenport, 53, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky. He was born October 6, 1970, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Mikey, as he was commonly called, was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Allen; father, James Allen; sister, Sue Davenport; nephew, Joshua Lester; nephew, Jake Vann; and great-nephew, Bradley Wilson.
He leaves behind his brother, Donnie Davenport and wife Machalla of Avon, Indiana; sister, Kay Lester of Keavy, Kentucky; brother, John Foster of Terre Haute, Indiana; sister, Lisa Collins and husband John of Keavy, Kentucky; nieces and nephews: Carrie Limeberry and husband Marty, Zach Limeberry, Chelsie Limeberry, Michelle Trudo and husband Eric, Kimberly Davenport, Mikayla Rodriguez, Devon Rodriguez, Hailey Wilson, Daelyn Davenport, Randy Lester, Katelynn Lester, Bradley Lester, Jaelynn Lester, Randi Lester, Madisyn Lester, Makenzi Lester, and Jennifer Day and husband Josh; a host of other great-nieces and great-nephews; uncle, Ancil Davenport and wife Lou; aunt, Betty Butler and husband Don; aunt, Marlene Redding; and aunt, Hazel Karr. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Ruth Ann Barger, and special friends who were like family: Mae and Ray Saloh, Noah Chase Sizemore, Zayven Jace Sizemore, and Robert Barger.
Michael was dearly loved by his family who will miss him deeply.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, December 11, 2023, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Gerald Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery in Keavy, Kentucky.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 6 – 8 P.M. at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, KY 40701.
