Robert Dean Norman

March 11, 1940 - November 19, 2023

Robert Dean Norman, 83, of Corbin, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky.  Born March 11, 1940, in Pioneer, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Lonzo and Julie Norman.

Bob was a United States Army veteran.  He worked for General Motors for 30 years before retiring.  Then, he worked for 17 years for the Knox County Board of Education.  Meanwhile, always busy, he enjoyed working outdoors, especially mowing and bush-hogging his property.

In addition to his father and mother, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Jaclyn Norman, and three siblings: George Norman, Letha Stafford, and Geneva Norman.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara Norman; daughter, Gwen Evans and husband Chris; son, Rob Norman, and wife Jayme; and five grandchildren: Morgan Evans, Bailey Evans, Brycen Evans; Layla Norman, and Isabella Turner.  He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.

Dearly loved by his family, Bob will be deeply mourned and missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 22, 2023, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Joe Eaton and Ryan Wells officiating.  Burial will follow in Campbell Cemetery at Gray, Kentucky.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 P.M. Wednesday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, KY 40701.

    Barb, I am truly sorry I am just now seeing this. You and the family are in my thoughts and prayers. If you ever need to talk do call me anytime. I will send my number to you on Facebook. And I must say Bob was a wonderful man and I feel bless to have known him for he has one of the biggest hearts I ever have known. May God bless all the loved ones of Bob with strength , courage and love to be there for one another during this difficult time.

    Just now saw this and am so sorry to hear about Bob. He was an awesome man, husband and father. You all are in my prayers. God bless you and your sweet family.
