Ryan Matthew Smith departed this life in Morgantown, WV, on October 2, 2016, at the age of 36. He was born November 24, 1979, in Corbin, KY. He was the son of Vonda and Robert Bunch and Michael and Sandy Smith all of Corbin.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Keaton Smith; two brothers: Michael Sean Smith and Steely Wade (Kristin) Smith; his grandmother, Alice “Tina” Walters; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him greatly.

Ryan was a 1998 graduate of Corbin High School who served his country as a helicopter crew chief in the Marine Corps, reaching the rank of Sergeant. He was an Iraqi war veteran. He loved to read, cook, and garden.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 8, 2016, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Addison officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery with military rites by the D.A.V. Chapter 158.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 P.M. Friday at Hart Funeral Home located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
