Sallie Langford, 100, of Corbin passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014.  She was born in Harlan County on March 9, 1914.

She was a member of Keck Baptist Church.  She coveted her role as a homemaker and demonstrated her love for her family in many ways.  The pride she took in preparing every meal she made was quite evident, especially with her acclaimed chicken n dumplings and banana pudding.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlo B. Langford, as well as her parents and several siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Willa Mae Helton and husband Phillip Wayne of Corbin; three grandchildren: Joseph Helton and wife Amy of Corbin, Melissa A. Helton of Corbin, and Carla R. Steely and husband Mark of Corbin; 10 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, December 28, 2014, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Siler officiating.  Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. until the funeral hour at 1:30 P.M. Sunday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.
